The Inverse of the Golden Rule

The Golden Rule:

“Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.”

But what if it were turned around just a bit:

“Do not do onto others as you would have them not do onto you.”

What would change in the intent of the rule? What does it say about human beings that the golden rule is active and not passive? What does the Golden Rule – and not its inverse – say about values, rewards and consequences?
